“I moved into my new Dayport digs not long ago. All’s well until my neighbor across the river gets a windchime. The damn thing jingles day and night, loud enough to rouse the Trickster, and I haven’t had a good night’s sleep all week. Tonight, the infernal contraption will disappear. Into the river.

I’ve scribbled down a hasty map… this is still a new area for me and it wouldn’t do to get lost in my own backyard. This is hardly the heist of the year, so my leftover tools from the last job will have to do.

Well, the neighbor’s asleep and I’m wide awake. Time to grab what I need and hit the road.”

The story takes place during the events in T2, before the death of Sheriff Truart. Garrett receives an unexpected letter from Lord Carlysle.

Mister Garrett,

I never would have thought that I would need your services, but sometimes life has a few surprises in store for you.

Perhaps you’ve already heard of me making my daughter Isabella marry Lord Bafford’s son, Cedric.

They went to live in the country, in the old mansion that belonged to Lord Bafford’s great grandfather.

However strange things have been happening in the last few months.Sheriff Truart’s men were already there because of the mysterious disappearance of two of the maids; Isabella vanished a few days ago as well.

I recently received a strange message from Barker, the caretaker. He is certain that Isabella is still alive, and he urges me to do something about it without even giving me any proof or explanations.
Mister Garrett, I want you to go there and find out what happened to my daughter. You will be well paid for your services, but if you manage to bring me back Isabella alive, you will receive such a reward that you will be able to retire for good.

Start out by discovering what Barker knows, then find out what happened.

I’m warning you now, I have no intention of letting Sheriff Truart know that I don’t trust him and his men at all. He will not be pleased if he knew I recruited a thief to finish the job him and his men cannot do. Therefore, if you are caught I will not help you in any way and I will deny any involvement.

Basso’s master key ring has been siezed by the City Watch. You must break into the Rue Du Maine Officer’s Club, find the key for the unpickable safe where Basso’s keys are kept, get the keys and get out again with out anyone knowing you were there.

“Basso delivered to me a letter hiring me for a new job.

“An unknown person has asked me to sneak into ROENT, best known as Lord Alan’s Factory, and find a way to use a series of codes. Apparently, it’s industrial espionage. It is strange that the message does not mention a reward.

“I don’t see the reason why I should sneak into that noisy factory for nothing. Perhaps I’ll wait to find the connection between these codes and Lord Alan’s business, then I will set my price.”
